For year 12 art lessons, I share this class with the other art teachers within the department. The lesson I saw them this week, they were focusing on the technique 'chiaroscuro' which means light and dark. The students were creating their portraits in charcoal and began them in my lesson, following on from watching a video demonstration on how to draw using charcoal. Below are some of the photographs from the lesson, where they are starting to create their chiaroscuro images.
