This week I started the sweets/food project with my year 9 art classes. I chose to do this to give them a 'fresh start' coming back from the recent lockdown.
In Lesson 2 - the students are asked to create an artist research page for British artist Sarah Graham. I have started to create the PowerPoints for the scheme of work so that each lesson has levelled success criteria with visual examples, learning objectives & outcomes as well as tiered vocabulary.
Below is a copy of the main slide from the lesson, along with an example artist page that I created. I did this to show students what they can achieve when creating an artist research page and to set high expectations for the lesson.
In this lesson I also provided the students with resources to create their artist page. This includes printed photographs of the artist's work, along with an analysis support page - providing the students with a range of questions they can answer to complete their artist research.
