Earlier this term Year 11 had a taster day, where they went to different subjects in preparation for A Levels and to experience what subjects would be like in year 12. I was in charge of running this taster day and in doing this, I organized a session based on 'phytograms'. This involves the students using a combination of vitamin C, water and soda crystals, along with natural elements such as leaves to create black and white images.
The students were fully engaged with this session and created a wide range of images during this session. I asked the students for some feedback regarding the session and they all said they fully enjoyed and would happily do the session again.
Above are some images from the session of images developing and final photographs produced by some of the year 11 students. This session enabled the students to fully engage with traditional photography techniques and experiment with materials and processes that they wouldn't have used before.
