GCSE Photography Marking & Feedback

This week we have collected in year 11 books for assessment following their mid-term hand in. The class was expected to have planned & constructed a mid-term piece over half term.

Following the department marking scheme, I have assisted in marking the sketchbooks for year 11. Each piece of work receives a label which records the date, Assessment Objective Code & a Level for the piece of work. The AO codes, link closely to the overall assessment objectives for GCSE Photography, but break them down to individual strands that students can improve on. When the students receive this feedback, they then write out the corresponding feedback on an assessment sheet.

Above there are examples of the labels used, along with the codes & levels given. There are also 2 examples of year 11 work submitted from 1 student who is achieving quite highly at present. Their work features contact sheets from their photoshoots, along with a physical manipulation they completed by weaving their photographs together in the style of Jean Faucheur.
