In last week's tutor emails, I have drawn attention to the recent events surrounding the black lives matter movement & the horrendous murder of George Floyd. In my email, I address that we would usually take the oppourtunity to discuss these events in school but given the current global situation we should still take the time to discuss these issues.
I attached a file to this email for students to look through, that explains what the Black Lives Matter movement is, why they are protesting, what has happened to George Floyd & what has happened since. The students were then asked to complete a task of writing their own poem or creating a piece of artwork.
